Vice President, Credit Lines Risk ManagementThe Vice President (VP), Credit Lines Risk Management supports the Chief Risk Officer in all aspects of Credit Lines Risk Management. The role also supports the Underwriting Team by providing enhanced analytics, surveillance, and market knowledge specific to the Credit Lines of business. The VP Credit Lines Risk Management also serves as Credit Officer for the Company.Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:• Assume the responsibilities of Credit Officer for the Company and manage Credit Lines reporting to the Parent Company. • Support the Chief Risk Officer in enhancing the Credit Lines Risk Management Framework. • Support the maintenance of the Company’s Risk Appetite, Tolerance and Limit Policy by ensuring that the underwriting decisions are in line with the defined risk appetite statement for Credit Lines. Prepare and present recommendations to the Validus Re Risk Management Committee. • Provide analysis, modeling, account pricing and underwriting recommendations, as applicable to the Company’s Credit Lines team. These lines of business primarily include Mortgage, Structured Credit, Trade Credit, Political Risk, and Surety; • Liaise with Underwriters and Actuaries to build, enhance, and maintain proprietary models and risk systems used in the management of the Credit Lines portfolio. • Responsible for exposure aggregation, monitoring and reporting for Credit Lines. • Use third party vendor models to analyze deals, challenge model results and help stakeholders better understand the risk profile of these lines of business. • Coordinate with the asset management team to understand Credit exposures on the asset side in order to better understand and manage accumulation from both asset and liability sides of the balance sheet. • Actively engage with Underwriting to support the process of identifying and analyzing exposures to new asset and liability classes for Credit Lines. • Keep abreast with recent market developments and pro-actively act to mitigate their impact to the Credit Lines portfolio as well as identifying potential opportunities for the Company. • Other duties as required.
